" The 375 Man. The winning mascot: The mascot designed by Alvaro Marinho, The 375 Man, is a reinterpretation of Calder's Man, designed by Alexandre Calder for Expo 67. This choice is not fortuitous, because Montreal's 375th will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Montreal World's Fair. The mascot, which would be available in different colors, “promotes the diversity and cultural richness of this design city recognized by UNESCO since 2005”, describes Alvaro Marinho. “Montreal is an amalgam of colorful shapes and movements, languages and origins that form the basis of its creative energy,” he adds. L’Homme 375 makes it possible to update the principles attached to Calder’s work, which are still valid in 2017, but linked to new social issues."
